Cupcake DownSouth :: A Charleston
original. A South Carolina favorite.
Random acts of kindness.
In June 2021, we launched our #RandomActsOfKindness program, surprising everyone from public servants to people on the street with free cupcakes. Our hope is that by sharing in the delivery of these random acts of kindness, others will be inspired to do so too, and we can all help brighten the day of others.

We support other sweet causes.
Since our founding in 2006, we've gladly supported scores of nonprofits. Giving back to the communities that support us is part of our soul! Below are just a few examples.
Animal rescue
We have long supported animal rescue! Currently we do this by donating $1 for every pupcake pack we sell to the Charleston Animal Society and Columbia Animal Services. We've also held pupcake parties at their animal shelters where we feed donated pupcakes to the pets up for adoption and highlight adoptable pets in our videos, and we've held Columbia Animal Services Spirit Nights during which we donated 15% of every purchase to them and helped them adopt out rescued dogs. Check out our pupcakes page for more!
Children & students
Our Spirit Nights, during which we donate 15% of every purchase to a nonprofit, can be a helpful source of financial support to local nonprofits. We've supported many good causes in this way, from the PTAs at Belle Hall Elementary School in Mount Pleasant, Charleston Charter School for Math & Science, and Whitesides Elementary School in Mount Pleasant to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Columbia, The Starkey Hearing Foundation via the Delta Zeta sorority at University of South Carolina, the Charleston Junior League, and the Trident Literacy Association in Charleston. If your nonprofit organization is interested in a Spirit Night, give us a shout.
Patients & natural disaster victims
We love delivering donated cupcakes to patients, nurses, and volunteers at local hospitals; those awaiting bone marrow transplants are among our favorites! We also regularly donate cupcakes to the soldiers defending our freedom at USO South Carolina, especially on deployment days. And we created limited-edition cupcake flavors after Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, donating $1 from every one sold to storm victims.
Yesterday's Cupcakes
Through our Yesterday's Cupcakes program, we've donated more than a half million cupcakes to nonprofits over the years, including Boys and Girls Club, Carolina Homeless Veterans, the Charleston Center for Women, Delancey Street Foundation of South Carolina, The Dream Center, ECCO, Florence Crittenton Programs of South Carolina, Hospice of Charleston, the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), MUSC Children's Hospital, Neighborhood House, One 80 Place, Share Our Strength, St. Andrew's Parks & Playground, The Arc, United Service Organizations (USO), the Washington Soup Kitchen, Wings for Kids, and many others.
